LinkedIn Profile Examples for Sales Professionals
Updated 13 September 2026
A sales profile has one job: make a buyer who clicks from a message or a comment think this person understands my problem. That makes it a buyer landing page, not a resume, and it changes every section.
Here is what that looks like field by field, with examples.
Buyer profile versus recruiter profile
| Section | Written for recruiters | Written for buyers |
|---|---|---|
| Headline | Enterprise AE at Acme | Helping ops leaders at 3PLs cut claim cycles | AE, Acme |
| About | Career history and quota attainment | The buyer's problem, then your track record with it |
| Experience | Responsibilities | Outcomes for customers like the reader |
| Featured | Empty | A case study, a useful post, a calendar link |
| Banner | Default blue | One line on who you serve |
Quota attainment belongs on your profile only if you are also job hunting. To a buyer it signals what you want, not what they get.
Headline examples for sellers
- Helping 3PL operations leaders cut freight claim cycles | Enterprise AE, Cargoline
- I work with heads of finance on spend visibility | 8 years in B2B fintech | Ramp
- Ex-nurse, now helping clinical teams buy software that does not waste their shift | Medline
The about section a buyer will finish
- 01Name the problem they already have, in their words.
- 02Show you have seen it repeatedly, with specifics you can back.
- 03Say how you work with people at their stage, including when you say no.
- 04Give a low-friction next step. A question, not a demo request.
Featured, activity and the part most sellers skip
Your activity feed sits on your profile. If the last five items are congratulatory emoji on colleagues' posts, that is the impression. Two or three comments a week on your buyers' posts, saying something only an operator would know, does more for a sales profile than any headline rewrite.
In featured, put the one asset that answers the most common objection you hear, and keep it current.
How this connects to SSI
Three of the four components of LinkedIn's Social Selling Index, establishing a professional brand, finding the right people, and engaging with insights, are direct outputs of the profile and habits above. The profile work is not separate from the selling work, it is the part of it that happens while you sleep.
Frequently asked questions
- Should sales reps mention quota attainment on LinkedIn?
- Only if the profile is also doing double duty for job applications. Buyers read it as a signal about your priorities, not your competence.
- How often should a salesperson post on LinkedIn?
- Once or twice a week is plenty if the comments are consistent. Commenting usefully on your buyers' posts outperforms low-effort daily posting.
- Does a sales profile need a personal brand?
- It needs a recognisable point of view about the problem you sell into. That is all a personal brand is in a sales context.
