The Best Time to Post on LinkedIn (and Why Your Data Beats Any Chart)
Updated 13 September 2026
For most B2B audiences, Tuesday to Thursday between 8am and 11am in your audience's main time zone is the reliable default. That is a starting point, not an answer, your own analytics will beat any published chart within a month.
Timing matters because of the golden hour, the algorithm's early test distribution. Posting when your people are awake gives that test the best chance.
Sensible defaults by audience
| Audience | Best window | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| B2B founders and execs | Tue to Thu, 8 to 11am | Friday afternoon |
| Sales and marketing teams | Tue to Thu, 9am to 1pm | Monday before 9am |
| Global audience | Two windows: 8am and 5pm your time | Weekend mornings |
| Recruiting and job search | Mon to Wed, 9am to noon | Late evening |
If your buyers are in another region, post on their clock. An India-based founder selling to US buyers should be publishing in the evening local time, not the morning.
Find your own window in ten minutes
- 01Open post analytics for your last 20 posts.
- 02Note publish time and 24-hour impressions for each.
- 03Group by day and by two-hour band.
- 04Ignore your two best and two worst posts, they are content outliers, not timing evidence.
- 05Post at the strongest band for three weeks and compare.
Why timing is the smallest lever
A weak post published at the perfect hour still fails. A strong post published at an average hour still travels, because the algorithm keeps testing it as long as people engage. Timing buys you a better first hour, nothing more.
The bigger levers, in order: the first two lines, whether the post earns comments, whether you reply to them, and whether you publish consistently enough for people to recognise your name.
Frequency and spacing
- Leave at least 18 to 24 hours between posts so they are not competing for the same audience.
- Two to four posts a week suits most founders.
- Consistent days beat random ones, people start expecting you.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for most B2B audiences. Monday mornings are noisy and Friday afternoons are thin.
- Should I post on LinkedIn on weekends?
- Usually not for B2B, volume is much lower. The exception is a niche audience that is online at weekends, which your analytics will show.
- How many times a day can I post on LinkedIn?
- Technically several, practically once. Two posts close together split your own audience across both.
